UMH Properties (formerly United Mobile Homes) is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that owns and manages more than 80 manufactured home communities containing approximately 14,500 developed lots in New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and several other states. The company leases home sites to private homeowners on a monthly basis and rents a small number of homes to residents. Communities offer such amenities as swimming pools, playgrounds, and municipal water and sewer services. The REIT sells and finances manufactured homes through subsidiary UMH Sales and Finance and owns more than 800 acres of land for development. UMH Properties also invests in other REITs.
